Lyrics - Juliana Ryan

How can you call us unequal at all? And how can you take total control? We have no right to own property or keep the money we earn. We serve our men and get nothing in return. For too long we've stayed satisfied with our place in the world. We have ambitions and goals, we're not little girls. God created us to do great things, we can't let this go. It is our right as people, as citizens to vote?

We hold these truths to be self-evident. That all men and women are created the same. No more oppression, give us education today. We deserve recognition, we want a say.

When did the rules of gender come into play? Did it start because men wanted their way? When men read the scriptures, they got it all wrong. They've been equal to us all along. As females it's our duty to promote our righteous cause. It's our inalienable right to help create laws. It's 1848, submission is no longer our style. We demand suffrage even if it takes a long while.

We hold these truths to be self-evident. That all men and women are created the same. No more oppression, give us education today. We deserve recognition, we want a say.

Freedom on behalf of women all around. Respect from society, no more bringing us down. No more bringing us down.
